Man,I walked all this way and there's no food!

WHAT AM I DOING HERE?

See the Martian Polar Regions they said. YEAH RIGHT! Gee I wish those scientists would work out their measurement systems.

Dear Sparks,

I climbed Olympus Mons today. It’s 17kms high and let me tell you, I'm sweating a lot. NOT! The aliens are very nice. The whether is great, it was only -108°C  last night so please send my electric blanket. I found out that Valles Mariners is the largest canyon in the Solar System, I'm looking forward to catching a genetically modified hippo to the bottom. Tried to go fishing yesterday but didn't  catch any fish.

Write every day.

Bye from Naomi and Amber.

Dear Sparks,

I jumped in Valles Marineris and had a spectacular fall.
I was asked to find some fossils in dry lake beds. Then I took my own tour of Mars in my land yacht and found Viking Lander. Last week I got caught in a global dust storm, thought I wasn't going to make it, it was soooooo SCARY. The nights are getting colder than I thought  -90°C. Next week I am bungy jumping down Olympus Mons. After that I'm going to the Newton Basin to look for fossils. Then I'm going to Eddie, I hear that they've seen a UFO there recently.

From Jules and Caleb.

Dear Sparks,

Thanks for sending our class on this great excursion to Mars. Unfortunately we're currently stuck in the middle of global duststorm. It has been raging for two weeks already. Today the weather was rather warm, it reached -55°C. Anyway, we haven't found any new fossils in the Newton Basin yet but one of the scientists in our team thinks she has found an entrance to some subsurface caves. Excitement is running high that there may be water in one of them.

Once this storm stops we’re looking forward to going skiing in the polar region then we’re off to trek up the tallest extinct volcano in the Solar System, Olympus Mons. We're hoping to be the first school group to reach the caldera. After that we're off to the Valles Marineris to go bungy jumping. We just can't wait for that.

Cheers

The Starfish Class (Yr3/4)

Dear Sparks,

We volunteered to go fossil hunting a week ago (we haven’t found any yet). Too bad we were stuck in a global dust storm in the Valles Marineris. Yesterday we were lucky and stumbled across the old Viking Lander.

See ya later.
