Simile

A simile tries to make a vivid image in the mind of the
reader by comparing one thing to another.

Smilies can often be identified by the use of the words
...like... & .....as....... 

Here are some example that we found in books. 
 

She had hands like baseball gloves. The plane swoops like a bird. The boy ate like a pig. As happy as a pig in mud.

As white as snow. As cunning as a fox. ...was flying  like a swallow.

....moving around like an angry dolphin.
...leaping in the air like a trout on a fishing line. 
...sounded like bullets from a crazy gun.
