A Starfish Book
Review
The Lost
Diamonds of Killiecrankie is a piece of historical fiction set
in the wilderness of the Australian state of Tasmania.
Geoffrey
is a disillusioned art teacher who goes to a rugged part of Tasmania
to paint pictures of the mountains. He eventually becomes obsessed
by the local legend of lost treasure and the book then follows
his quest for the legendary lost diamonds.
The book
is cleverly written, it incorporates a great deal of Tasmanian
history and many different text types as the story unfolds. However,
we feel that this book was a 'little too old for us'.In our opinion
the book is more appropriate to year 6 and 7 students.
